Biography
Carla Keller is a fine art photographer living in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, living there twice as an infant and adult in her early twenties, and also lived in Indiana and Colorado before moving to Virginia in third grade. She is currently a BFA and MAT student at George Mason University’s School of Art with a concentration in photography and art education, aspiring to become a high school photography teacher. Keller was the award winner from the NOVA Alexandria Photography and Media juried exhibition in Spring 2020, has collaborated with fellow students from Northern Virginia Community College on a zine, Your Friend From College, and contributed photographic work for Dropbear’s single and EP album covers. Her photography was recently on display in February, 2023, amongst other two- and three-dimensional artworks with GMU National Art Education Association Student Chapter members in the exhibition Celebrating the Identity of Art Educators Beyond the Classroom in Alexandria, Virginia. Ever since she was a small child, Keller discovered that art was a language where she could best express her thoughts, feelings, and imagination in a way that she could not through words or playing music. She plans to continue submitting artworks starting with local galleries while she teaches to inspire her children and future students.
